Arguably the best Chinese restaurant in the Glorietta Mall. Open since 4 years ago., This restaurant has already carved its named in the food eating business because of its consistent quality of food and good service. I just dont like the mall location. Own by George Pua who according to Philippine daily inquirer is a Chinese culinary Guru.
I dont know whats so modern about this place. THe settings and interiors shouts typical chinese restaurant. THey serve the typical chinese fare with soe variations in the other stuff. But i have to try the usual dishes first before i venture on the other stuffs
On the table
Steam Fish Fillet in Garlic -
Dory fillet, on top of tofu slices. steam toppe with garlic and drizzled with soy sauce. The garlic penetrating the fish but not overpowering the taste of the dory. THe soy sauce adds a light salty contrast to the fish. THe tofu soaking up all the juiced.. yum… Served steaming hot… liked it.
Lemon Chicken
– Their version of Lemon chicken is one of better versions. THe chicken was fried perfectly. The skin was crispy.. the meat was crunchy on the outide yet very moist inaide. THe sauce has just the right amount of tartness and sweetness. It has a watery-syrupy consistency. Very Very good.
Overall, i like th dishes i ordered, will be back and try the other dishes, especially the dishes that only they have..
- fresh salmon slices..no fishy odor.. good quality salmon.
this was just okay, nothing unusual.
- For a high priced japanese restaurant.. where have they learn that Squid balls considered as seafood???????
with the usual things you can find in a Chinese Restaurant. Aquariums, Big round tables, Roast items hanging by a window. The kitchen can be seen from the dining area though. Not really an open kitchen coz it is divided by glass.
hmm.. a sweet deal, nice size, good amount of shrimp pieces. very good.
small order which served 5 to 6 small bowls. Piping hot, not as much crab as i would want it to have, nevertheless, it a nice soup to whet the appetite.
Tenderlion peices, beaten up eith e meat tenderizer, quickly panfried then doused with a sweet red sauce. THe beef pieces were tender, THe sauce was not too sweet which i like.
- They used Dory filler here, which for the past years have become increasingly a popular choice for white fish fillet. Lightly battered and deep fried to maintain its moisture inside and cispyness outside. THe sweet and sour sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and sour tones.
Will definitely be back ehre and try the other dishes. They also have rice topping and noodle dishes.
Mussels which i topped with ceasar dressing, shaved parmesan and bacon bits, Smoked salmon with with dill mustard, japanese makis
Xiao Long Bao, Siomai, Hakao, Roasted Duck Wrap, LEchon Macau, Aspara-Bacon.. it really disappoitn me when hotel buffet restaurants serveds chinese dumsum dishes that are not high quality. THe siomai and Hakao were forgettable, the Xiao long bao is dry, THe lechon macau skin looks crispy, but only looks.. it was not crispy at all. THe Roasted Duck wrap was good though.
this was good, the soup has th right amount of saltiness and sweetness.. balanced.. the meat was cut thin and melts in your mouth.
Tempura and aspara-Bacon, Croquette- the aspra bacon was good like i said from above, the tempura…. well… i wish they would use gibber shrimps or prawns, the croquette were ok
Lamb Chop, Slice of Roast Beef, and Slice of Beef Belly- the roast beef was alittle tough even when it is cooked just the way i liked it, the beef belly was tender and fatty:). the lambchops were cooked ala minute in front of me..
among the hotel buffets, their pizzas are one of the better ones
now this was the highlight of the dinner. soft flesh, cooked when ordered, seasoned just with salt and pepper. THe freshness of the fish and the delicious natural flavor of the fish exudes in every single bite..
Crepes, Ice Cream , Creme Brulee, Panna Cotta- everything was good, for the this restaurant has the best dessert delection among all the hotel buffets.
they have the most difficult set of utensils to use.. do u agree?
- if you love your congee a bit runny.. this congee is not for you. THeir congee is thick, the rice morsel almost cloying to a smooth paste. Not really my type of congee but my brother loves it. Served piping hot, with a egg that u mixed with the congee before eating it.
The beef is very very tender, the sweet soy marinade penetrating each fiber strand and all the tendon. The wantons are not as good as the ones in

dont expect angus or wagyu quality beef here. Expect some chewiness. U better have a full set of teeth to enjoy this meal, its not dead tough, just a little chewey which is sometime good at least u can taste the fibers of the beef, right?:) It is indee big, coveinr galmost the whole plate. A order comes with a scoop of mash potato or rice and the trinity of corn carrot and peas
, nothing special here… served with a sweet mustard sauce
keep on looking at the sizzling plate but to no avail… If only i want worried about the cholesterol level of that damn thing.. i would have returned the order… hehe
one of the better sisig here in manila, consistent in quality and taste

- for me this is the best bang for a buck california maki.. size is just right. filling is adequate with the extra tamago inside, a dab of mayo on top and the right amount of ebiko hugging the rice morsels:)
- a melange of colors and different texture of different sea creature. from the salmon to the tuna to the grouper and lastly to the sea urchin. All fresh.. chilled, never frozen seafood delight
– a little oily.. comes with a bowl of miso soup and rice. THe beef was not as tender as i hope it would be. for the rpice. it was good
- 5 pieces of medium size prawns, 1 asohos fillet and i veggie tempura all for P180. the batter is just the way i like it, flaky and light, no oily aftertaste.
- everything weas cooked perfectly, cooked through but still moist and tender inside, the basting was just right to give it a sweet and salty flavor but not overpowering the natural flavor of the meat
forgot the exact name of the dish, this was very very good, the soba has just the right bite, the soup was light dashi broth.
- one of best looking agedashi tofu in town. Cubed silky tofu, breaded fried then doused with a sweet light soy sauce topped with pickled ginger, spring onions and bonito flakes.. eat everything in one bite to marry all the different flavors…

- now.. after reading that, who would not want to order this…. the sauce is fantastic, creamy, savory, wonderful. the stuffing was also good. great appetizer…
the tomato sauce was very good, taste fresh with the right spicyness to lift up the flavors, the cube eggplant does its work on contrast in texture but not really add much to the taste. The stuffing inside the tortellini.. well,, it wouldnt hurt if they could stuffed it with more filling
with fresh tomatoes and small prawns- now this was a surprise, lots of gambaretti, lot of fresh tomatoes, pasta cooked aldente, mixed with olive oil and white wine. Refreshing taste, nothing heavy, light and good.. a winner here
- Sadly, this was the sad part of the meal, crust was too thick, that alone wontmake me order this dish again.
– complimentary fried pasta showered with powdered sugar.. a nice ending to a good meal.
